With a distinguished career spanning 49 years, Mr. Hamid has held key roles in reputable aviation organizations such as Pakistan International Airlines, Emirates Airline, Gulf Air, and the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Serving as a senior AVSEC & Dangerous Goods Inspector at GCAA from 2009 to 2021. He has showcased expertise in Oversight, audit and development of the Civil Aviation Regulations focusing on Cargo Operations and Training & Development.
Starting in cargo operations, Mr. Hamid's 49 years aviation career evolved to cover diverse aspects of airport functions and cargo marketing. He prioritized continuous professional development through courses by IATA and ICAO, consistently earning academic distinctions.
As a Training & Development Specialist for over four decades, he globally delivered cargo training courses, specializing in areas such as Dangerous Goods Regulations, Radioactive Materials Transport, Lithium Batteries Transport, Live Animals Regulations, Cargo Perishable Regulations, Cargo Tariff, Cargo Handling, Cargo Proration and soft skill courses.
Besides his academic qualifications, he holds diplomas in Air Cargo, Logistics & Transport, along with a diploma in Training and Teaching from City & Guilds (UK). Notable roles include a nine-year membership in the IATA/FIATA Cargo Training Development Group (IFDG), where he served as Vice Chairman from 2004 to 2005. He contributed as a consultant to IATA, playing a crucial role in developing course material and worldwide examinations, emphasizing his enduring commitment to advancing the aviation industry.
He has a passion for reading, and as he travelled extensively throughout his career, he continually enhances his photography skills.
